Heater fan--not working

I had a this happen to my 1998 C-Class, whilst it could be fuses/connections, (not likely) it could be the resistor pack for the fan speed control, or, as on my car, it turned out to be worn out brushes in the actual motor. Motor needs to be stripped down to check the brushes. In my case I was able to stretch the springs that are fixed to the brushes, and it is still working now after a couple of years!

If you are posting a fix it your motor situation is the second to check after the strip fuse on a 96 model. Then you check the regulator that controls the auto fan speed function for auto mode. If those are good then it is the CCU (climate control unit)

What will keep heater fan from working( both fuses check good)?

The speeds are controlled by a resistor pack. Changing the resistor pack may restore full functionality. Volvo heater fans are notorious for squealing. Usually they are run at a speed that doesn't squeal. If it squeals at one speed, sometimes a different speed won't squeal. The resistors seem to eventually fail. They are fairly cheap to replace.

Where is the resistor pack located that is in the heater circuit, for a 1998 mercury Mistique?

Might be the Resistor pack located close to the blower. Could be under the dash or under the hood, but always close to the blower itself. Usually has a flat connector with 4 or 5 wires, and two small screws holding in the duct. It may be a crispy critter. It happens... The blower moves air across it to keep it cool. The blower motor may be bad as well, or possibly the fan speed switch. May very well be the fuse for the blower as well. The blower connector may be loose. Let me know what you find.

I have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler and the heater fan stopped working for all the fan speeds. The fuses are fine. How do you know if it is the blower resistor or the blower motor?

If you bypass the resistor pack and connect the motor directly to the fused 12v supply then the fan should run at maximum speed. If so, it's the resistor pack that's blown: a very common fault on a huge number of makes and models.

Heaterblower not working after changing heater core 1998 S 10

Have you checked the fuse? The blower fan has a resistor that controls the speed in the air box by the passengers feet. When the heater core was replaced, something could have happened to the connection or wiring. Not sure why the radio would be affected by the same thing, could be a coincidence or something dislodged under the dash. Start at the fuse and go from there.

Heater fan

Your fan technically only has one speed. The voltage is decreased by the use of a resistor pack to produce the slower fan speeds. If this resistor pack burns out, it will leave you with only the high setting. You can find the resistor pack located under the hood, on the passenger side on top of the fan housing.

Ac blower motor

Check fuse supplying fan is not blown,
Check blower control switch is operating OK,
Check relay controlling fan is operating OK,
Check variable speed resistor pack is not faulty (the resistor pack is usually located in the blower ducting, in the blower airflow),
Check blower motor ground connection is not missing.

Heater not working

either blower motor resistor or blower selector switch.could be selector switch because if resistor was gone you should still have either hi or low fan speeds.
