The air bag if deployed has to be replaced and sodo the sensers. The dealers and body shops like to keep this job in their pocketas the car has to be checked by manufactureers rules before the car is to be reset. The fuel pump is not defeated by the air bag light, but the crash can cause a shake problem with the pump and the security system can't reconize the key untill the reset for it is performed. Most shops don't like wreaked cars to be driven and if they don't get to turnkey the job they don't want to start. They'll give you an estimate though. and they may have to charg for it

How do i reset the air bag light on 2007 vw passat we disconnected the middle dash piece to paint it and the air bag light has been on ever since

Need to have it scanned for codes with a srs scanner autozone should be able to scan it for you. This is the only way to reset light. In the meantime air bags will not work correctly in a crash

After crash air bag liite is on 1995 chevy lumina need toplug in used air bags

Nothing will happen including air bag operation in the future. Air bag system is disabled by the computer any time the light is on. Probably have damaged sensor wires or sensor in the front due to previous front end damage. If a body shop repaired your car, take it back and demand they fix your car properly as this is part of the job.
NOTE: Before installing the air bags be sure to disconnect the battery "and" remove the air bag fuse and wait at least 3 minutes before working with the system. Safety first !!!12_24_2012_6_19_01_pm.png

Air bag light on

see this and fix it.
AIR BAG SENSOR REPLACEMENT Several very important points must be kept in mind about replacing crash sensors. One is to make sure the replacement is the correct one for the application. Crash sensors are calibrated for specific vehicle applications, so compare OEM part numbers to make sure your parts supplier has given you the correct replacement crash sensor.
The mounting of the crash sensor is also critical. A replacement sensor must be installed in exactly the same location and the same position as the original. The sensor must also be firmly attached so it won't break loose in a future collision. Altering the mounting location or position of a sensor may cause it to trigger the air bag accidentally or not at all.

CRASH SENSOR CHECKS The air bag control module self-checks the crash sensors every time the engine is started, so unless the air bag warning light is on the sensors are assumed to be okay. If a fault is detected, the air bag warning light will come on and usually deactivate the air bag system. Using a scan tool, you can pull the trouble code from the system and refer to the appropriate diagnostic chart in a service manual to troubleshoot the problem. Air bag service information can also be found on the vehicle manufacturer's website (Click Here for a list of websites and access fees). Loss of circuit continuity anywhere in the air bag system, or loss of power to the air bag module are common causes of trouble codes.
Because crash sensors are sealed units, you cannot always determine their true condition by outward appearances. Any sensor that is obviously sustained physical damage as a result of a collision or other damage should be replaced. But what about ones that look okay? Most electromechanical crash sensors are designed to be electrically open in their rest condition. So one quick check you can perform is to check for continuity with an ohmmeter. If the sensor contacts are closed, it has not reset and should be replaced.

1995 ford bronco - does the fuel pump shut off switch activate if airbag is deploed in a crash

The fuel deadman switch is an inertia-based switch, the momentum and sudden stop in a crash will set if off regardless of whether or not the airbag deploys. The airbag is set off by the closing of one crash sensor and one safing sensor simultaneously. I hope this helps

Replaced fuel pump

ther is no reset switch on a gm sorry. this type of pump is very prone to connector connections below the pump to burn the connector. most delphi or other good quality pumps will come with a wiring up grade kit to cure this problem. make sure with the key on cranking you should have 12 volts at the pump connector.
