Actually, you need to remove the bumper cover as solution 2 says, then there is one screw there that you take out. but then there are 2 nuts that you have to access from inside - which they want you to take the whole interior of the truck apart to access. i have the same issue, except it was my husband who backed into our minivan, and i'm not sure what i'm going to do. if you take off the access panel, you'll see that it looks like you could almost get those nuts off if you had the right tool - a very narrow long socket and socket extender to fit in the access holes. i'll let you know if i'm able to do it or not.

Remove all the clips and bolts from the rear wheelwells. Remove all of the trunk interior floor and around the rear hatch. Keep removing every bolt on the rear end that points towards the bumper. Then the rear bumper should come off, then there is 2 or 3 screws holding the tail light in from under the bumper cover!

How do i replace hand rest lid console on toyota highlander 2009

Usually these compartments are hinged on either one side or the rear. You would remove the screws (probably Phillips head) and replace the old lid with the new. You should be able to order a new lid from the dealer or other source and I would wait until I received the new one before I removed to the old. Best of luck.

I have a 2009 Toyota Highlander the volume button broke on my stereo I need it replaced how do I go about getting it fixed

visit an auto part store like Oreilleys or AutoZone or Advance Auto parts and order a new stereo sometimes its not worth fixing what is broken instead replace it, you can also look in Walmart.com for a cheap replacement or visit your local Pawn shop, half the time people sell to pawn shops just to make money and not because anything is wrong with the object.

I have a 2009 Toyota Highlander The volume button broke on my stereo I am looking to get the part for

Call manufacturer of the unit. Toyota does not service audio systems in the vehicles so you need to go to the mfg or a audio store.

Where is my tail light relay in a 2003 highlander?

If your taillight keeps going out, the problem is the gray connector that the bulb plugs into. Replace that and your problem will be solved. It is difficult to order one from Toyota and get the correct part; the schematic for that taillight is not clear on their computer system.

The most reliable way to get the correct part is to go to a pick-your-own-part junkyard a cut a couple of them out of a crashed Highlander. Should only cost you like $5 each.

This solved the taillight problem on my Toyota Highlander. It took me weeks to chase the problem down. The dealer will charge you hundreds of dollars to troubleshoot the problem. The connectors are easy to change out. You just unplug and replace them.

Replace Right Rear broken Taillight assembly

Just joined 20 minutes ago....maybe I can help.
My volkswagen golf rear cluster is often a bother.
1, Open boot area and remove the plastic cover.
2, Often its the 3 or 4 nuts holding the interior cluster in place, use a socket to remove them, a 8/10/12 mm nut usually .
3, Exterior shell falls away, allowing access to the bulbs.
4, reverse to re assemble.

Good luck, Dave

Highlander Tail Light

Could be the seal around the taillight assembly is leaking water onto the bulbs. I had a similar problem and resealed the plastic lens cover and that was that.... no more burned out bulbs.

HOW DO i REPLACE AND REINSTALL A TAIL LIGHT ASSEMBLY FOR A 09 tOYOTA HIGHLANDER?

I know the procedure for 2004 highlander. It is as follows...
  1. Open the back door to the highlander, remove the plastic compartment cover.
  2. You will expose the nuts and bolts that hold the asssembly to the car.
  3. Remove the nuts - be careful not to drop any inside the cavity.
  4. Once you have all the nuts removed, you can remove the lamps and pull the tail light assembly off.
  5. Put the new assembly on, replace nuts, and reinstall the lamps.
