Chevy s-10 pickup loses all power while driving. Power used to kick back on after a few seconds. Recently the power did not kick back on. Now the engine will not start. The battery and alternator have been replaced. The truck will not start. Seems the battery can not hold a charge?

You may have a model with a security code. You have to contact Pioneer with the serial number and they will give you the code to unlock it. Once you lose power, it needs the code.

Compression test (close to equal in all cylinders), fuel pressure test (about 35psi), then have the fuel filter changed(10 part) and the cat-convertor checked. All but the cat, one can do themselves with a few loaner tools from the auto parts shop. May cost about $100 versus what the dealer shop charges.

It sound`s like the excess fuel solinoid is sticking, take it out and give it a good clean...

try this while running in neutral rev the engine if it still back fire check timing , adjust if needed if that does not solve issue the go to the plugs check spark gap use delco plugs if u can and last check vacume line u could have a hole in line this was the issue with my s-10 hope this helps

check your fuel filter, it may be dirty and not letting enough fuel through.

You can check fisicaly the wires to the compressor and make sure you don't have any interuption on it. Can you hot wire the compressor from the battery ? But before you do it check the panel AC switch.

your power starts at the brake light fuse,check with a test light,then proceed to stop light switch on brake pedal under dash,one wire will be hot when when you check it with your test light, the other won't be until you press down the brake pedal then the power flows through to the second wire,if no power to second wire replace switch,if you have power remove tail light bulbs and check for power in side socket.

you will need to drive approx 500 miles it will eliminate the not ready but will bring back the codes
