Problem for Chevrolet 2003 Tracker

Gear shifter on 2003 tracker hard to engage, brake

Gear shifter on 2003 tracker hard to engage, brake interlock sometimes does not disengage. Have to use the emergency lock disengage with screwdriver to move shift lever, will not go into second gear or low. Feels very tight and bound up.
