Pull all the spark plugs out and make sure the engine still spins freely. Put a socket on the crank pulley bolt and turn the engine a couple of revolutions. With the plugs out, it should turn quite easily. If not, something may have seized from overheating. If the engine turns easily, but the starter won't work, check all battery connections for being clean and tight, also the starter connections. If still nothing, have the starter tested. Any chance any of your wiring got burned or scorched from the overheated engine? You might want to check the wiring harness around where all the smoke was coming from. Good luck. If you get the engine cranking, and still won't start, begin checking for spark at the spark plugs.
If the engine is smoking and you have misfires on three cylinders, this is not a good thing. The best course of action at this point would be to pull all the spark plugs out and perform a compression test to help evaluate the extent of the damage.
drain coolant out od radiator. you will need to knock out old one. i use a long heay matel screw driver and and brass mallet, no sparks. pound on oneside of the plug. it will spin. once it has spun grab it with vise grips and pull remainder out. ther are 2 kinds of replacement. oem which you have to pound back into place. the other is a rubber plug with washers on either side and a bolt through the middle. much easier to use. put in plug hole tighten bolt and you are good, of course refill radiator.
The plug is possibly stripped in the hole and needs mechanical attention immediately. Have a mechanic put a helicoil in the hole where the threads are damaged. Whoever changed the spark plugs last was a **** and needs to never touch another car in his/her life
No it has not been overheating or losing coolant at all it just has been running rough and poorly (loud) it was not smoking till he took out the old spark plug and put in the new one he said it was smoking out all that had been backed up into the cylinder due to non working spark plugs (there was oil on the spark plug)
