Could be a bent rim ? have you changed the universal joints? how about the tie rods and stabilizer bar

Testimonial: "thank you very much, i will do this first thing. i have had several people look at it , and of course they have told me it was not the tie rods,i knew"

there should be very no movement on the tie rod, other than twisting it up and down , even than there shouldn't be alot of movement. Jack your vehicle up and check to see if the upper and lower ball joints have any play in them as well . To do this you will need a jimmy bar, place the bar close to the knuckle and aply pressure if you see any movement at all, the ball joints will need to be replaced, you don't want one of these babies coming apart on you while you are driving. I hope my advise has been helpful to you.

Everytime i go on 40 mph or above and hit a bump the whole car shakes as if i have a flat in the front

Couple things to look at:

Tire inflation pressure
Tire Balance
Front end wear - including ball joints etc.
Steering gear wear or adjustment
Front end alignment
Faulty wheel bearings

You probably cannot fix this. Please take your 1995 Jeep to your mechanic that specializes in front end maintenance and have him or her take a look at it. Get this done soon as I think your car is dangerous to operate at this time to both you and others on the highway. This condition will not improve if you ignore it.

I have a 1993 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo. There is a "violent" vibration that occurs only when you are going 40-60 MPH and you hit a bump or pot hole on the highway. The front end begins to...

Vibration from about 40-60 mph is usually attributed to wheel balancing, but the onset when you hit a bump seems to indicate play in the steering linkages (tie rods etc) or suspension members and stabiliser bar rubbers but you had that all checked out, that brings us back to the wheel balancing.

2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee steering wheel shimmies back and forth so much at 45-50 mph when you hit a bump it feels like the wheels are going to fall off. Already put new shocks, steering damper and panard...

Check your ball joints. also, if the tires are somewhat worn many times they won't have enough rotating mass to overcome side harmonics and can shake but most oftern the joints are worn. No play is acceptable there.

If i hit a small bump at 50 mph, front ends shakes so bad,I have to stop truck \r\nalso lots of play in steering

My friend, you have very serious wear in the front end of your vehicle as evidenced by the severe vibration when you hit a bump. The front end steering equipment in your Jeep is very complex requiring special tools and expertise to properly repair. Please get your 1995 Jeep looked at soon by a front end alignment specialty shop in your area. This is a very dangerous condition.

Wheels shake terribly on 95 jeep laredo when I hit a bump over 50

Get front end checked out a.s.a.p. as this could be a part ready to go, and steering could go with it. Steering link, tie rod end, idler arm all come to mind. Personally I wouldn't drive it too far if at all, and not at a high speed until I'm sure what it is.

97' jeep cherokee laredo shakes when driving

Could be a number of things from ball joints to your pitman arm(arm that steers the tires). It dont sound like tire are way out of balance because yu said it only starts when you hit a bump. If it was me, Id crawl under the front end and start shaking different parts until I figured out what was loose. if its shaking that bad you should definitly be able to tell when you shake it.

Steering problem

Shocks are usually pretty much shot after 45-50K. Also check damper (sideways shock on steering linkage). Shake is either wheel balance or a worn steering component (should have been checked before alignment...shame on them if they didn't)
