My 99 Grand Cherokee has the radiator fan running all the time, even when the Jeep is off. I just replaced the motor 3 weeks ago and all was fine until today. When I shut the Jeep off, the fan kept running. I had to unplug it to shut it off. Any ideas???

Three possible causes: (1) The high speed circuit in the radiator fan motor could be defective. (2) The high speed fan relay Could be defective. (3) It possibly may have a wiring issue. I've seen at times where you can wiggle the fan motor connector that's mounted on the fan shroud and the motor will kick on. If this is the case then replace the hole assembly which is a motor and shroud assembly. Hope this helps and have an awesome day.
see if the air duct piping is still connected to the blower housing or the fan blade might have come loose from the motor and the shaft is just spinning inside the fan blade
Disconnect the fan plug and hot wire it to the battery if the fan dosen't run, replace it. Otherwise, check the relay. The system operates by the temp sender sending a signal to the computer that activates the relay that turns the fan on. Fan should also come on with A/C.
Run the car with the radiator cap off. Make sure the radiator is topped
off with coolant or water will do just fine. While the car is running
look in the radiator neck and check if there are bubbles coming out.
Maybe bad head gasket.
Had this problem and one thing that even Chilton manuals only show in fine print sorta say is that Jeep cherokee has a relay sensor for the coolant fan usualy right behind the passenger or driver side headlight you may have to remove the bumper also its rather easy. Its a liitle black box thats screwd down on the panel just unscrew it unplug it replace mine ran me around $60.00.Before I learned about this after replacing the thermostate and just about to rip out the water pump my buddy told me about the sensor after replacing over a year ago no problems.
