I need to know how to get a new plastic timing chain guide, or find out how to put this new metal timing chain on with the tension specs.

can't take the slack out of a stretched chained if you already replaced just the tensioner

did you also look at the other timing chain guides?!? they're plastic covered as well & will eventually wear out in time

Tighten the chain guide bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Tighten the chain tensioner bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Tighten the oil nozzle bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Timing chain tensioner guide bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Timing chain bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Chain guide plug to 90 N·m (66 lb ft).
Timing chain upper guide bolts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
Timing chain tensioner to 75 N·m (55 lb ft).
Camshaft bolts to 85 N·m (63 lb ft) plus 30 degrees.

the chain has tension adjusters you might have missed this to release and reset them also did you have the crankshaft and camshafts held in place while installing also the chain guide/s could be worn most have plastic guides on the guide rails and contact could have broken this plastic resulting in chain to metal contact I don't know what kind of car your talking about but if its a dual overhead cam with 2 chains this could be it you must you special cam and crankshaft positioning tools to make sure that its in the exact position also your crankshaft sensor or camshaft sensor could be unplugged or not working and can not tell the computer where it should be resulting in a loose chain LATER MAN!

The timing chain tensioner is what needs to be released to put slack in the chain. But you really should invest in a repair manual for your vehicle for the procudre, torque specs, etc....

1. Remove the timing chain cover. Its usually a black plastic cover on the side of the engine.
2. Loosen the timing belt tensioner. Its cylindrical shape thing made of metal and timing belt run over it.
3. After loosening it you can remove the old belt and place new belt.
4. Tighten the belt tensioner and put timing belt cover back.
Done.

i think you will just need to change the tensioner here ,they do wear

The timing chaing noise is very common on almost all v6 nissan engines. There is a significant difference for the maxima's though.

Timing chain noise is very common and it is the result of the secondary timing chain tensioners. They often stick and put too much tension on the chain and the plastic guides for the tensioner wear down to metal and that is the noise you hear.

At Nissan, I have performed this replacement many times and I suggest you take it to the dealership to have it fixed.
