SOME FUEL PUMPS ARE ****, IF ITS A CARTER IT MAY GO OUT INSTANTLY. GO UNDER LISTEN FOR FUEL PUMP TO CUT ON WHEN KEY IS TURNED TO ON POSTION, DONT START. IT SHOULD PRIME AND CUT OFF. IF NO PRIME, PUMP MAY BE BAD, YOU CAN CHECK PUMP OUTSIDE OF TANK AS WELL BY REMOVING AND TURNING ON TO SEE IF SPINS, YOU CAN REMOVE A HOSE TO SEE IF GAS COMES OUT AS WELL WHEN TURNED ON, SOME PUMPS GET STUCK. CHECK YOUR PRESSURE TO MAKE SURE IT IS RIGHT, CHECK YOUR FILTER, FUEL PUMP RELAY, ALSO IF YOU HAVE A BOOK SEE IF YOUR CAR IS EQUIPTED WITH A FUEL RESET SWITCH ( SEEN IT ON MUSTANG 5.0). HOPE ANY HELPS. I REPLACED MINE 3 TIMES ON MY 97 CHEVY S10 BEFORE I GOT ONE THAT WOULDN'T OVER HEAT, BOUGHT IT FROM AUTOZONE. BUT AUTOZONE IS COOL.
