Wont crank robustly
or cranks great but will not start.
1000 of posts here, not one ever said or answered.
why ask this lacking this fact.
the answer lacking that fact is 1000 page book.
Immoblizer not angry "the cluster lamp deal"
the fuse test good;.
engine cranks ok, if not jumper cable it and report (AAA tow, jump,101)
engine wont start.
spark gone. x all cylinders.
I scan it and it shows CMP sensor is dead.
like that?
no starts have 50 causes....
we use maybe 5 simple cheap tools and find it fast.
guessing is near endless.
the law of EFI, no spark ECU cuts FUEL, so spark is 1st
and you cant burn fuel with no spark so is moot point.(otto cycle engines)
here is the 93 + jeep way (no tools)????? posted many times.
as you can clearly see, to get to step 4, is easy but at 4 , NO TOOLS NO JOY
Try this:
This procedure usually works:
·Check the battery cable connections:
Make sure the positive cable, makes a good connection at the battery and at the starter. Make sure the negative cable makes a good ground connection at the battery and (preferably) at the engine.
·Check the battery the simple way, like this:
Turn on the headlights, then try to start the car.If the headlights do not dim or go out, then the battery is likely ok.
·Check the starter and solenoid:
If the wiring looks ok, then look at the starter solenoid for a good connection, and proper voltage at the starter(10 volts minimum while cranking).
If the starter spins and no crank, the problem is most likely the Solenoid's pinion gear is stuck.
Have someone hit (not too hard) the starter while you try to start the car. This usually works by dislodging a stuck pinion gear.
·Make a simple test of the alternator:
If you can, somehow get the engine running, measure the voltage at the battery. It should be at least 13.6 volts to properly charge the battery.
Its the key fob battery!
Mine had enough to open the doors etc but not enough to deactivate the immobiliser!!!
Jeep Northampton fixed it. Brilliant Garage, would recommend them to any Jeep owner, lovely people.
Try it, it costs so little.
fob battery does not run SKIM , sorry, remove battery in fob, see the skim works (its a key passive RF ID system)
and worse is the dash SMIM light , don;t lie, battery or not.
see if the FSM page helps you.
easy huh, if it glows, its there, and if it fails to go out , or flashes the IMMO is ANGRY, (active and will CUT THE ASD for SURE) automatic shut down relay, is ASD.

If it has power to everything, it would be working...Check battery voltage with a meter first to make sure you have 12v there. Then check remainder of the system to see where power is not. Also, try locking/unlocking drivers door with the key...if security is on that should re-set it.
