These blazers have aluminum cylinder heads and are very prone to warping when the engine overheats. They need to be taken off and taken into a machine shop that specializes in automotive applications to be magnafluxed (tested for cracks) and if there aren't any cracks have the heads ground to get them back flat.

I just bought an 04 isuzu rodeo with only 75000 miles it seems to run rough and makes a knocking noise and shakes and no the chk engine light is on what do you suggest I do

First thing I would check is timing then plugs and wires. With electronic ignitions, even bad plugs and wires can cause rough running and pinging and knocking, backfire and such.

Car has rough ideling at stops when engine is heated up...knocking noise coming from the timing belt area...will overheat occasionionally at stops

you might have a clogged radiator, your timing belt may need adjustment have a mechanic look at this immediately you could be risking blowing up your engine... it will be costly to fix but in the long run save you money by not having to buy new car

05 ford ranger started knocking then blew of radiator hose now it wont start

The knocking (as opposed to pinging) could indicate lack of oil or a bad oil pump. If it was the lack of oil then that, in turn, could cause overheating and a subsequent blown radiator hose. In addition, depending on how long you ran the engiine while it was knocking, you could have driven off a pistion rod cap while the pistion seized up in the cylinder. If the engine won't crank or cranks with some undesirable metal on metal noise you may have an engine job (or a new short block)in your future. My arm wave analysis may be modified by some additional information.

My truck has 160000 miles and just started running intermittingly rough sometimes. All of a sudden it will lose power and stumble. If you hold the throttle all the way down it sounds like popcorn maker...

It sounds like the ignition may be firing early at times. If it sounds like it is knocking and pinging then this can be ******* the engine to keep it running like this. It is better to get off the roadway and shut it down. Check for engine codes, etc.

I hope this helps.

Knocking sounds

Windstar's are notorious for having intake manifold air leaks, they even make a kit to repair it. I would send it to a repair shop as it is a time consuming repair.

1992 GMC Sonoma - 4.3l cannot start after stall and knocking.

Sounds like an engine sensor, EGR valve or O2 sensor has failed. First thing to do is to look at the engine trouble codes to pin down the failure. You can usually borrow an OBD1 code checker from your local parts store.

90 Toyota 4Runner pinging noise

hi the pinging you here is ignition firing before it should but if you have a knocking noise i would suspect the worse but try doing a compression test first see if everything is in order then if this seems ok have you put fuel in it just before it started if so change your fuel if not see if the electrical system has a knock sensor if so run the engine and tap the block close to it see if engine revs drop if not replace but the knock is a piston best of luck yates210456
