Do the rear shoes fit the drums?
When drums are resurfaced the shoes should be re-ground to fit in the bigger drums or they may/can flex ....loosing pedal firmness.
How is the master cyl?
Clamp off all brake hoses and check pedal firmness to see if problem is at the wheels or not.

No brake pressure...

I would keep bleeding. If there is not any brake fluid leaking, there must be air in the system. with the master cyl cap off, open one bleeder valve on the front and let it bleed for 10 mins. close and repeat with the rest. there must be an air bubble in the system! good luck

Brake pedal goes to floor

for the pedal to go to the floor there is still air in the brake system. Start again starting from the longest line bleeding each in turn to the shortest line . make sure you have adjusted up the rear brakes before bleeding as every time you press on the pedal the shoes expand right out and when you take your foot off the pedal the shoes go all the way back in. adjust them manually and do not rely on the self adjuster as it only adjusts on wheel movement

Brakes on a Lincoln mark viii coupe 1995 fitted new M/cylinder L/front and R/rear wont bleed is somthing wrong in the abs and how much for a new unit

All four brakes must be bled to eliminate the trapped air...probably not anything else...try lubricating the bleeder fitting with PB Blaster before trying to open...be cautious as this valve can break off, and that means rebuild the caliper drill out broken fitting...or replace caliper...either way all 4 brakes must be bled...start with the rear farthest away from the master cylinder then other rear...then right front, then last is left front...Hope this helps.

I have a ford f-150 1993 just got new brake pads routers and drums and now my abs light is on and my breaks lock up in the rear and put strain on my engine almost over heated once

I would suspect either the brakes were not installed coorectly, or you have a bad caliper or wheel cylinder. Also, if you do not have good brake pedal height (sinks to the floor or goes down far) it may be air in brake system indicating they need bled properly.

Brake pedal goes to the floor only when engine is running. Pedal is perfect with engine off.

your power brake booster is blown out
the seal has a leak in it
run the truck for 3 minutes and shut it off. with the windows up listen carefully while you gently apply the brakes
listen for a hissing sound of air leaking.
the sound of these leaking is a very soft sound

1997 GMC Sierra 5.7 changed master cylinder calipers and brake pads. I have a hard pedal until I turn the truck on and the pedal goes to the floor? Is there something I am missing? I have bled the brakes...

check under your master cylinder,is there another clyinder below with one line in and one line out,if you do I found this is for the Abs to the rear,I had to replace this it was full of air,and did exactly what yours is now
