Your wipers are on the "delay" setting. Make sure they are ALL the way OFF.

Cannot get the wind shield wiper motor back in the wind shield wiper stops in the middle of the wind shield

this is normally caused by a bad wiper motor or binding of the wiper gears and linkage arms.
check to see if the linkage arms are tight and not loose. also try and lube up the pivot points.
another thing to check is to make sure you have 12 volts to the heater.

Windshield Wiper Motor could be causing starting and stopping where it feels like: REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Fig. 1: Remove the water shield fasteners 91226p14.jpg

When removing the wiper motor, leave the mounting frame in place. If possible, do not remove the wiper drive crank from the motor shaft.
  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable and remove the water shield at the base of the windshield.
  2. Disconnect the relay rods from the wiper motor.
  3. Note the position of the crank arm on the shaft. When the motor is in the parked position, the arm should be about 4 degrees up from horizontal.
  4. Disconnect the wiring and remove the bolts to remove the motor from the frame. To install:
  5. Temporarily connect the wiring and run the motor. When the wiper switch is turned OFF, the motor will stop in the parked position.
  6. Install the motor and connect the linkage.
  7. Run the motor again and make sure the arms and blades are properly positioned when the motor stops.

After looking at the schematics, I couldn't determine which subsystem may be causing your problem with the headlights. There is a daytime running lamps subsystem, but I am not sure if that's causing the problem. There are fuses involved but not sure if that's the problem.

There's a solid state headlight switch, but I'm not sure if that's a problem.

On the headlight issue, if it doesn't come back, just consider it a bug or glitch.

Have you had a battery changed on it recently?

Wind shield wipper handle wont stay in place it broke how do you fix it

Hi there,

Well you can please follow the below steps -
1. Lift the wiper arm away from the windshield. If the tension spring is damaged or broken, the arm will not show resistance. If it is functioning properly, then pull the arm back until the hinge locks in a vertical position.
2. Remove the retaining nut at the base of the windshield wiper arm and pull the wiper arm off.
3. Slide the new wiper arm assembly on.
4. Tighten the retaining nut and lower the arm back down to the windshield.
Please post comments for any other help or information......

Good Luck!!

Thanks

1999 vw beetle. blinkers, wind shield wipers not working.

check your ground conections under the dash first. and if they look ok take them apart and clean them anyway, and if the problem is still not fixed look for what all of these systems have in common. i would suspect the grounds though its common on vw problems.
