I HAVE A 383 ENGINE AND JUST HAD IT DYNO TESTED, YHE CAR IS NOW OVER HEATING PASS 210 AND WHEN I TURN THE IGNITION OFF THERE IS A THREE SECOND DELAY BEFORE IT STOPS ,THEN IT BURPS AT THE CARB.

idling to high, check ignition timinng to far advanced... to high of idle will cause run on because the throttle plates are to open allowing the vacuum to continue to draw fuel into the hot cylinders... on carb model... could over heat for several reasons to thin of cyl walls from overboring eng, to small of capapcity of coolant system , many reasons...
