The actuator is not engaging the lock mechanism. You need to open it manually from inside the truck There is an access hole on the rear end gate pad where the material meets the plastic directly in the center you can feel a soft spot in the fabric backing with your finger.use an awl or ice pick to poke thru the hole and feel for the lock arm and pop it open then unscrew the end gate pad and inspect lock Good luck
Hi: the hatch release is not a motor it is a solenoid, you should hear just a click. If wipers and door locks not working check under the hood in the power distribution box for the 3 Amp fuse and replace. To manually open the hatch get in the back of the unit, in the center of the door below the window where the carpet starts below the plastic run your finger across the carpet, you will find an indentation where you insert a pointed object through the carpet. This allows you to release the latch for the window or hatch. Please rate suggestion....JD
the lock is probably gummed up. you may have to have someone push lightly on the glass while pushing the latch switch to make it move. if not then you can remove the back panel and actuate the latch manually by pulling on the cable. then clean it with brake cleaner and lubricate with graphite.
