A/C compressor will start and produce cold air (had Freon added as first try), but after an undetermined time the cold air will begin to warn up and within minutes it will begin to provide cold air again. This could happen anytime and sometime it never happens. 2000 Lesabre???

The answer to your questions is 'NO'. It occurs while driving on flat roadways, city driving and at normal speeds. It seems like the a sensor or something retards the cold air and there is a quick smell of warn air. Thanks the quick reply. George

Is the warm air related to acceleration by chance. Like if going up a hill, it feels warmer? Pay attention when engine under load condition like going up a hill, or pulling out to pass & see if that has anything to do with it.

Check the coolant system, make sure the compressure clutch is engaged all the time. Check the a/c cycle switch located on the receiver and dryer also.

A/C compressor spins, but why is there no cold air?

You may need a shop manual to get the wiring diagrams and test procedures.
The ac compressor gets power from several sources and those would need to be checked. The control on the dash, the low and high pressure switches, the relay, and so on.
If the compressor is ok, you should be able to jumper the clutch like you did and feel one line cold and the other line warm if freon is flowing thru the system.

Why wont' my a/c system blow cold air after adding freon?

Hmmmmmm, There is a lot more to AC systems sometimes.

Is the clutch on the AC compressor turning when you have the AC on? How much pressure is currently in the system? Does it have AC in the back of the vehicle?

On my 96 yukon the air won't get cold its not

if it WAS working then gradually just seemed to not get cold it sounds like freon is low. with the compressor cycling on-off it has some freon in it. just add a small amount. i'll be honest its best to have someone with the recycler machine do this it will save you from adding too much and possibly damaging the compressor. most shops have a freon service special around 99 bucks?

My AC is having trouble. It seems to only work once out of every 50 times I have tried to run it. I checked the freon with a AC gauge I bought and followed the instructions and it said the levels were up...

Hi, first of all, you will want to verify that your compressor is kicking on. Open hood and located A/C compressor. Have a helper start the engine and and then turn on A/C to maximum with blower at full speed. See if you hear and observe the compressor kick on. The outer portion of the compressor outside the pulley is the clutch. It should make a click and begin to spin along with the pulley. If it kicks on ok, does your cooling fan at the radiator kick on also? May need to run the engine a few minutes to verify that. If so and you are reading a full charge at the low pressure port at this time, you have air in the system and it should be completely emptied and then re-filled with around 3 LBS of R134a refrigerant until you read a low pressure side of 45-50 PSI. Then you will be blowing cold air.

A/C

Sounds like the compressor has gone out of your AC system. They are not too terrible to change, but can be time consuming depending on location. IF the freon is good, check the compressor and you should here it at idle speed w/ hood open clicking on and off as the clutch engages and disengages when the AC is operated. If there is no clicking on and off by the compressor, new compressor will be required. IF it gets cold when first adding freon, and then fades quickly, it is likely a leak in one of the high or low sides of the lines between the coil and the compressor.

Hope this helps!

My air condition want' blow out cold air i try

If your car is more than a few years old, it probably has a leak or a worn compressor. You can add too much freon for the system. It needs to be vacuumed down to a negative pressure before adding freon, and then checked for compressor function and leaks. You may need to take it in to a reputable shop.

2001 Isuzu Rodeo LS after adding Freon A.C runs warm and cold

It sounds like by adding refrigerant to the system it may be over pressurizing. When this happens it will cycle on and off.

You will need to hook up a set of manifold gauges and monitor the high and low pressures to see what is happening.

My ac does not blow cold in my 97 cadillac deville but it does blow just not cold and its n ot the fuse what can i do?

You probably have leaked out your freon after so much time. Try adding some more Freon if it doesnt stay charged you may have bigger issues.
