I recently saw on the news that some models were being recalled for a faulty ignition switch. (Where the key goes.) It happens for no apparent reason and kills the engine and locks the steering wheel. They said only 1 accident has occurred but imagine it happening at 60 miles per hour. You should call and see if your model is one of the bad ones.
What is the condition of the serpentine belt? Is the belt free of oil or coolant? Is the belt tensioner working correctly? If the spring inside the belt tensioner becomes worn. It can not apply enough tension to the belt. Also if the tensioner is corroded it can become seized and cause the same problem. I hope this helps but if not please try to give more symptoms or details. Good luck.
it has electric power steering look in the under hood fuse box they are the larger square fuses if that is all good the motor that runs it might be bad

You do not add any. If the steering system is leaking, you repair the problem. It is a sealed system other than a removable fill cap. It does not use fluid in the sense you ever loose any
Unless they have gone to electric power assist on the power steering, should be no correlation.
However, is your accessory belt for running your alternator and power steering pump ok? Is it tight enough.
While an electrical issue should not affect the power steering, a loose or missing belt could cause the (1) alternator to not properly charge the battery and (2) the power steering to not have power.
Check under the hood where the fuses are located, right next to the battery terminals. The fuse cover has a printout underneath. I believe power steering is the #1 fuse. You can replace this fuse at any auto parts store.
