It means that a problem has occurred in the part of emission system that recycles the evaporated gas fumes from your fuel tank. I could be of more help with the fault code(s)
it means that you have a problem with the emission control sensors and need to have it checked out
have the fault codes read to determine if it is EVAP system fault, HO2S sensor fault or O2 sensor fault
fix what is reported
evaporative emission (EVAP) system --small leak detected===causes --hose connection/s--intake leak--EVAP canister--EVAP canister purge valve
and the second possible
12 means the system memory has been cleared recently. 31 Evaporative emissions carbon vapor storage canister purge solenoid open or shorted. Check the under hood emission sticker for location on diagram.

P0455 = Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (gross leak)
What does that mean?
This indicates a fuel vapor leak or lack of purge flow in the EVAP control system. It means a large leak has been detected. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine. Symptoms
You likely won't notice any drivability problems.
Causes
A code P0455 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
A loose or improperly affixed gas cap
A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
Other leak or damaged piece in EVAP system
Possible Solutions
With a P0455, the most common repair is to:
Remove and reinstall the gas cap, clear the codes, and drive for a day and see if the codes come back.
Otherwise, replace the gas cap, and/or
Inspect the EVAP system for cuts/holes in tubes/hoses (you may hear a vacuum noise or smell fuel), repair if necessary
Generally is the emission system warning, but to know excalty what fault code is stored there, I suggest scanned the PCM; with this fault code number could send additional details about diagnostic or solutions.
The check engine light/service engine soon (yellow light) comes only when the computer control unit (called the PCM) senses a fault in the electronic controls of the engine and/or the emission system u will seldom feel the car engine run any different, there are about 200 possible faults that turn the light on, to know what has developed a problem you must have the system tested, this is called an OBD2 fault code test
