Brake line repair creates transmission problem?!?!

The r/r brake line cracked on my 97 chevy 1500. I had a replacement line fabricated for proper bends and replaced it myself; bled lines and refilled fluid, brakes are good but, now my brake lights do not work. Yes fuses are good, (I even replaced the brake lamp relay under the hood) and after a quick test drive still no brake lights and get this... Now it will not shift into park! The key is stuck in the ignition and I have to put it in nuetral to turn off the engine. Any suggestions???!!!

Check the neutral safety/back-up light switch. It is attached at the transmission case. Hope this helped and best wishes.

My 97 chevy k 1500 makes a loud roaring noise and feels like front brakes are being applied only in 4hi or4lo any idea s

Jack up the front wheels and check for loose play in the hub bearings. Excessive play in the bearings allow the rotors to ride at an angle against the brake rotor creating drag. The roaring is the bearing itself that has failed.

How to determine if 97 Ram 1500 has 2- or 4- 2wheel brakes? Need info for wheel bearing replacement.

on 1997 dodge ram 1500s you can look at the back of the front brakes and if you do have 4wheel abs you will have a brake line and an electrical line running tto the brake caliper. you can also look at the master cylinder, on the right side of the power brake booster (if youre looking from the front of the truck) there will be a metal brake distribution block if it has 2 lines running out of it you have 2 wheel abs...4 lines means 4 wheel abs
