Thank you , I looked everywhere one the gear box and online for a filler plug. The speedo cable is actually on the differential and is held on by a small bolt next to the cable entry. No idea how to check the level but I put 2.5 litres in and it was about 20mm below the top of speedo hole. Oh yer and it’s a good idea to drain the gearbox before removing cv joint otherwise you loose about a litre of gear oil ( found that out the hard way)

SOURCE: Hi , I have a

hi.
if it leaking that fast, it sound like you have a damaged seal.
i would not recommend adding more oil as it will probably come out even faster when you are driving.
the safest option would be to tow the car to the garage, or even better, have it trailered in.

2009 Mazda Demio. I would to know the recommended ATF for it please?

Question edited for clarity.

Be careful with terminology, ATF Fluid is a sort of an oil, but it is light in viscosity. Gearbox oil is for vehicles with manual transmission and is considerably thicker and would cause issues in an automatic.

Does a mazda 323f 2001 model need gearbox oil change after some milage or is it a sealed unit?

Automatic and standard transmission needs fluid change every 24 months. On automatic transmissions, the gasket needs to be changed as well as the filter. On standard transmission there is a drain plug that can be loosened up, and refilled through the refill hole. Standard transmission use gear oil, while automatic transmission uses automatic transmission fluid.
