if it has gone on the link arm best way is from inside but you may damage the door cover you have to lift the cover some times you can just get to the screws and remove them all depends on the lineament of the back door, if you cannot get to it from that side then the only way is from the part were the it goes over the bottom of the window but you may need a new card after. or could try a metal coat hanger from inside the window down the side to the lock make a smaller hook on one end and hope for the best. best to doit with the window as far down as you can get it.
There may be a child safety device on the latch side of the door you can see when door is opened, which prevents the window from going all the way down. Open the door, and check somewhere near the part that holds the door closed. See if there is a slide lever or button you have to operate to get the window to go all the way down. This is common on many vechicles.
If your back doors won't open from the inside then the child proof locks maybe turned on. Open the door from the outside and look at the edge of the door near the lock for a small lever or screw setting for the child proof lock. Tun off the child proof lock and then you can open the back door from the inside.
Id say the release rod has come off the lock.if the child safety knob has been switched to 'on',outside the door, the inside catch wont release either.may have to remove trim insitu, and release lock.see if you can remove back seat first, before removing trim.make it easier
Rear Door Child Safety Locks - Child safetly locks are located on the rear edge of each rear door. To activate the locks, you must insert your car key into the opening and turn to the locked "vertical" position. To disengage the child safety lock, insert your car key and turn to the center position. You can please follow the below link for more information -

since it is the drivers front door it could be the outside door handle , the rod that goes from the handle to the lock asbly or the lock asbly its self take the door trim panel off and then loos inside the door and latch the door with the door open. open the door with the outside door handle and watch the rod and the lever that the rod is pushing down the lever might not be pushing the lever down far enough to release the lock. If the lock does not open try pushing down on the lever and see if the lock releases if it does ck the outside door handle for cracks along the hinges of the handle I have found that most of the time that it is the outside door handle cracked and the rod is not moving the lever far enough to release the lock.
does it open from the outside if you unlock the door, if it does the child lock lever is on,open door and on the latch side of the door is a little lever that you can move to make it child proof or not
This is a child safetly feature. There should be a small lever on the inside of the door frame on the door itself. You will have to switch it back in order for the handles to function again.
There is a child lock on it. Open the door and look on the edge of the door, where it mates to the body when the door closes. There's a lever there that is labeled as the child lock. It'll show her which way to switch the lever to allow the door to be opened from inside the car.
