Question about 2004 Chrysler Pacifica

Open Question

I have a 2004 Chrysler Pacifica and the auto locks are acting up. I had left the keys in it one day when I was washing the car and the auto locks acted up and locked my keys in the car.

Last night for about 10 minutes the locks were locking over and over and it kept making the dome lights come on.

SOURCE: 2001 Chrysler Sebring LX sedan power locks

It is a long shot, but I took my door skins off a while back to access the speakers, and when I put the door skins back on my doors wouldn't lock. It was just a dirty contact switch. I took my driver side door skin back off, cleaned both metal surfaces with a rag and it fixed the problem. I believe the switch is on the back of your lock button, it's a thin piece of metal that looks like a pen clip.

SOURCE: My 2001 pt cruiser auto door locks no longer work

As stated above, it is most likely your RKE (remote keyless entry module). It is easy to find and relatively easy to replace yourself. I just recently did so on my 2002 PT Cruiser. Got a used module from a 2005 at a salvage yard. Put in the module myself. However, you do have to take it to the dealer to reprogram so your remotes work with the module replacement. That cost me $50. If you are interested in doing the labor yourself, email me. K4qts@aol.com

SOURCE: keys locked in Chrysler Pacifica 2004

Do you have USAA insurance? I believe they have roadside assistance included in your policy which may include unlocking the door. Try calling your insurance carrier either way and find out if a locksmith is covered. On these newer vehicles I'm not sure if the old school slim jim works to unlock them.
