There should be 2 wires connected to the defrost element. You will need a meter which measures 12 volt DC. When you turn on the defrost, it should measure 12 volts DC across these 2 wires. If there is no voltage, you have a power supply fault. Broken wire of switch. If voltage is there, then there will be a break in the defrost element. These can be repaired. There is a special type of glue / repair kit that can be purchased from most Auto part stores.

SOURCE: rear defroster doesnt work

End of your dash at drivers side, where you open door, pull panel & read map. Also have another power distribution box under hood if not in there.

SOURCE: Rear window defroster

you need to make sure the wires are on the glass on each side and there is no broken wires in the glass there is a repair kit at a auto store to fix if you have a volt meter test it and that way you can find the problem look for breaks in the wire in the glass and do not for get the wires on each side of the glass.

Rear defrost on dodge durango not working

I'd check the most obvious culprits first. IE: a fuse, the rear defroster switch. If both of those are good use a continuity tester (included with most multi-meters) to ensure the heater elements on the glass aren't broken anywhere. (It should be a continuous grid with NO opens/gaps/breaks.)

I have a 1999 Dodge Durango and my turn lights aren't working

First check to see if the bulbs are good. Next check the fuse, turn your 4 way flashers on, if they don't work the problem is most likely a flasher unit, located in the fuse panel or next to it.

1999 Dodge Durango. Brake Light and the ABS Light

If you backup lights are not working as well, I would say check the fuse for the backup lights, if the fuse is good, see if you are getting power to that fuse. We had this problem and after weeks of searching and changing sensors, we found the backup light fuse was good, but not getting power. Ran a wire from that fuse to the cig. lighter fuse and all woprksf great.

Heating / air conditioning control stuck to front defrost vents

There is a vacuum leak under the hood. Find the vacuum line on the passenger side where it comes through the firewall and follow it to the engine. You system needs vacuum to operate and without it the default setting is on defrost for safety reasons.

Remove the door panel and find the window motor Unplug it and using a separate car battery run cables directly to the window motor When you switch the polarity the motor will either bring the window up or down or if noting happened change the window motor and window regulator assembly.
