Update: I ended up replacing the TIPM and also tracing the wiring, then replacing the horn contacts just to be sure. $2500. Then I sold it at a huge loss and resolved never to buy another American car.

easy to see what they have done here its had a new tyre valve fitted and as its not a compulsory vehicle test item then i would just remove the bulb ,their are no end of questions on here about tyre pressure lights and i do feel they are more of a problem than they are worth

First, you will need to jack up the driver side front wheel.
Then, remove the wheel.
With the wheel off, you can remove the plastic fasteners holding the battery access panel (bottom front section of inner wheel well).
After you remove the cover you can reach in and disconnect the cables, then remove the battery.

Did you have the code cleared after you installed the new part because the ECM cannot clear itself, even though you installed a new part and the code is still in the system? You need to have the code erased with a OBD II scanner.

Make sure to check all doors, the trunk latch, and the hood to ensure that they are shut. I have looked up your 2006 Chevy Malibu and there has been a lot of people complaining about the alarm system and it going off. There is a TBS (Technical Service Bulletin) out for your car. The TBS says that the Faulty Door Sensor. Take it to your local dealership and tell him what I found for you and they should get you a quote on how much it would cost to repair it.
