This one has the old points and condenser system?
I have had condensers cause this same condition before but your comments of bad gas or carburetor needing work or replacement are very possible.
Is it a specific "timed" miss-fire or does it seem random.
Let me know.

SOURCE: My 305 (V8) Carb'd engine likes to diesel when i shut off the car

Hopefully this should be a cheap solution to fix the problem. Your timing is a little off. You need to adjust your distributor. First start your car. Then loosen the bolt on the cap. slowly turn the cap until the engine evens out and it sounds proper. Tighten the bolt on the cap. Turn off the car and everything should be good from there. Hope this helps.

sounds like the computer is not working or is not making contact possibly bad ground if anyone has a scan tool and can read codes or if they plug it in and cant retrieve from computer, I would remove PCM and then try swapping with a known good PCM from another truck

What causes ignition modules to go bad in 1991 delta 88

Generally the cause of an electrical component to fail is high heat or extreme voltage load.
Is the coil pack and module getting too hot from the heat of the engine ?
Is it shorting out because of oil or wet surfaces ?
Could you be loosing voltage to the module from the key switch ?
Are you loosing ground signals from the computer ?

While driving the car shakes real bad and when turning to the right into a curve the car shakes, but does not shake going left into a curve

its possible it may be a bad inner cv joint as these can cause a shake when they start to seize and do not move freely.check to make sure that the wheel nuts are not loose and the front wheel bearings are not worn out and have excessive play in them,as if they do it can cause a vibration as well.

I have a 2000 Honda Civic with 64,000 miles on it. Sometimes when I go over pumps there is a ping/boing sound coming from the front drivers side. It kinda sounds like a spring popping. What could this be...

This can be caused by something broken, loose, or worn out in your suspension or driveline. If your vehicle handles relatively fine, and you dont feel any shimmying or bucking in the steering wheel, the noise can be coming from a faulty swaybar endlink or cv axle starting to going bad.

You or your technican will have to visually and physically inspect the items.... suspension and driveline issues that are not remedied quickly can easily turn into a bigger or unsafe problem for you.

Engine light comes on. Has bad miss. Engine rebuilt 10,000 miles ago. Engine is also loosing some coolant somewhere, but now leaks are obvious

You could have a bad gasket in your engine allowing the coolant to leak into your oil. Excessive amounts of coolant in the oil can ruin the engine and cause it to seize.

What can cause an ignition module go bad?

Heat is the biggest issue. When replaced, new heat conduction grease must be installed, or much quicker failure.

I hasve a 1995 chaevy g20 van.Took it to a shop

You really need more information (basis for any real diagnosis) but, If the weather was damp or rainy, you may want to consider checking the cap and rotor for cross firing caused by carbon tracks inside, or, ignition wires for arcing either to each other or to the nearest ground. This can show up as an intermittent mild miss or starting problem and evolve into your current condition.
