Question about Cars & Trucks
Black fitting on top broke off what does this control?
Looks like the black plug is the fuel sender unit that will tell you how much gas is in the tank. The white plug goes to the pump.

You can use a pick to remove the plastic clip,And use a fuel line disconnect tool to release to line.If you do not have that tool you can get one at advance auto parts.Be patient it may take some time to remove it.

Had a similar problem and turned out to be a fuel regualtor.
Be careful with the little o-ring. Tricky little devil.
There may be residual pressure in the line so be careful you don't take a shower in gasioline.
It was hard to start after warm up. Rough idle until driving. Then on shut off it was hard to start.

there is 2 one is for the evap fuel tank pressure sensor...and the other is the pump module...the module one should be 4 wires purple gray white and pink i think..just 2 of them are for the actual pump...run a test lamp on them...you should have power to it for 5 seconds ..when the key is 1st turned to the run position..thats the prime siglal to the pump..
