I have to replace a bank one variable timing solenoid, is it L or R? Are they easy to replace, and where is it located. Trying to save ALOT of money. It is a 2008 NIssan Pathfinder LE 4.0

These codes have to do with the CVVT(continuously variable valve timing)solenoid. I guess it is a 2.4 liter engine, the solenoid is located right above the power steering pump at the #1 cylinder in the cylinder head. If it is the 3.5 liter it is located on top of each cylinder and is accessed after the intake plenum is removed. Either way, the solenoid controls valve timing of the exhaust cam via the solenoid which uses oil pressure to advance or retard the timing. The first step is to verify proper weight of oil and level. If the engine is over due for service, get it done. If the oil is not an issue, then the solenoid is becoming sluggish in advancing or retarding the camshaft and should be replaced.
this indicates a problem with the variable camshaft timing and possibly requires reprogramming PCM module
assume the engine warning light is on? does the engine run normal?
A P0010 code refers to the VVT (variable valve timing) or VCT (variable camshaft timing) components and the car's PCM (powertrain control module). That consists of an oil control valve (OCV), also called a solenoid valve and other components. Basically the check engine light and associated P0010 trouble code means that the voltage in the circuit has fallen below a set limit for a specific amount of time (varies by make/model/engine).
Carefully inspect the Bank 1 VVT/VCT system circuit wiring and connectors, repair as required With a warm engine, test the operation of the OCV, replace/repair as needed.
Finding a wiring diagram for the shift solenoid in question and testing for control (turn on signal ) from the PCM And checking to see if the solenoid is open is the proper way to find the problem . Not guessing and just replacing parts ! Check engine light on ? The PCM would set a code an turn on the Check engine light if a solenoid was open or if the circuit was open , shorted etc..... How many miles on the trans ? More then likely the reverse clutch has a problem .Before you start replacing parts you don't need take to a qualified repair shop and have it diagnosed . Hooking up a scan tool to check for codes an view data or inputs from the trans range sensor switch and outputs from the computer to shift solenoids . This would save you time and money
P0010 - Intake Camshaft Position Actuator Circuit Open Bank 1
Possible Causes: - Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) position circuit is open or shorted
- Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) position circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty Variable Camshaft Timing (VCT) position solenoid

On the V6 it's under the valve cover as well but the intake needs to be removed. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.
