Have avanza with changed engine , it cranks but does not start so what could be the problem

always starter motor cranks fast/(NOT TOLD THAT)
HOT outside air, hot engine, or both?
lots of causes. engines are not simple nor is EFI.
IAC valve sure. can be stuck losed
why ignore the CEL, the PCM brain is trying to tell you what is wrong
and you did not scan it?
tests, easy
start car hot, with 5% right toe throttle. (a tad) start now"?
and if use if wants to stall can you keep it going with fast right toe action?/???
if all that fails crank dead engine, WOT, wide open throtttle
this clears floods (fuel)
the 3 causes (macro forum) are.

1. bad engine, or EGR stuck open or CAT melted(not yours)
2. bad spark, spark can even fail hot. and even wake up cold
3. bad fueling, to much too little or no air (IAT)

or PCM scans told what failed. 2006 cars must be scanned.
so do it?

You need to prime it .mine has an allan key nut just below the timing cover. open that nut and crank engine, air lock will be primed and oil will start oozing out .close nut and you pump will pump the oil.

well first need to find out about no compression bring back to builder

Should be 4.2 litres with filter.

would suspect fuel delivery issue then spark problem

Many things can cause this. Have the codes read. I would pull one of the colis, put a screwdriver in it and set it near any metal part. Crank the engine, No spark? I would look at the crank sensor.

Do you have spark to plugs? Correct fuel pressure? Injector pulse? Compression?

check engine tappets, check the fuel pipes.

I also have this problem with the same model. the engine sounds grungy every time I accelerate it feels like you're riding on a 1.0 liter engine,, did you fixed it?
