8409 key cut code - Cars & Trucks

I am not sure about a Holden, but I know that any GM vehicle the dealer can cut a new key from the VIN #

talk with a locksmith as there is a key code on the barrel of the switch and he should be able to cut a key to that code
if no code he will be able to remove the barrel and cut new keys from the tumbler positions
the only thing is that although he can cut keys , if it needs keys that work an immobilizer they can be expensive
if you are buying this car , then the seller should have the keys

A locksmith can come out and make a key for it. But they used to charge $75 just to come out

Only a Nissan dealer can cut you a key. Most will require the vin number and proof of ownership before they will cut you a key.

you my have a chip in this key you'll need to go to your ford dealer with your ser.number

Call or go to your nearest ford dealer give them your VIN number and they will be able to get your key code and cut you a new key.

I just wrote a repair for a guy to replace the passlock sensor, but it doesn't sound that extreme. Your key has a chip in it for the passlock security system, there are 13 different resistences for these chips. Make apsolutely sure the key you had cut, has the same coded resistence (eg. code 2 will turn the cylinder of a code 3 ignition, but will shut down in a few seconds.) If you have a code 2 key make sure you order a code 3 key before you have it cut. All 13 different keys can be cut to be able to turn in the ignition but only the right code will stay running.

Take photo id and the ownership or title to your car to the dealer and they can cut you a new key. Had new keys cut for my Honda cost me $5 each. If they can't cut the keys for you there they can give you the code and a locksmith will be able to cut you a key from the code.
