I have a 2007 Monte carlo lt and my power steering goes out when i go thru water. It has done this more then 4 times in the last 6 months. I am lucky i wasnt going fast or in traffic. dealership said it was water getting under the belt and does not seem to care. I am really scared i am going to have an accident if this is not fixed and the only other dealership is 60 miles away.

The Dealer may be right would want to check the belt and tensioner to make sure they are working correcly. I would do this ASAP. any garage can do that for you it does not have to be the dealer, however if you have warrenty they may need to fix it to be covered under a warrenty.

You need a better scanner to diagnose, not just for codes. It sounds like faulty shift solenoids. A professional grade scan tool computer is bi-directional and can command solenoids to operate and verify that they did.

Cannot get water pump on 305 v-8 Monte Carlo to loosen from engine

There is only 4 bolts that hold the pump to the block If you have the 4 bolts removed then hit the hub that the water pump pulley goes on with a hammer. some times you may have to hit it 3 or 4 good whacks. Hope this helps.

2007 Monte Carlo LT

Likely the signal lights are controlled by an electronic module, not by the traditional bi-metal flasher. The bi-metal unit clicks, the module is a circut board and does not do that.
