replace the coolant sensor unit as that is where the ECM gets the signal from to activate the relay that turns on the fan
check all fuses 2 or more in that circuit have the system checked by an accredited auto electrician before you do any thing so drastic
Most likely has a cooling fan not working, check for a bad relay for the cooling fan ,and the high side pressure switch,it is in a high side line,it tells the cooling fans to come on.
Check the cooling fans to see if they come on when the car gets to normal temp,if not, then check the fluid level of the cooling system, and thermostat,Coolant sensor could be the problem if the cooling fans are not coming on,or the cooling fan relay,or a fuse. The cooling fan maybe bad also.
Turn your A/C fan to the highest setting and verify if your cooling fans are coming on and staying on. If not then there is a problem with the cooling fan circuit.
Are we talking about the cooling fans for the engine and AC condenser?? Only one cooling fan will cycle on and off during normal operation. The main cooling fan will cycle on and off as needed for cooling the engine. If you turn on the AC or select a defrost mode on your climate control then the 2nd additional fan will run usually continuously in order to condense the freon in your AC system for cooling the interior of your car and in defrost mode it helps to reduce interior moisture on the glass (defog/ defrost). If no fan comes on at any time whether the engine is hot or cold or whether you turn on the AC or not and you have already replaced a cooling fan relay and checked related fuses then either the fan /s are bad or you dont have power in or out of the fan circuit which consists of several components that would need to be checked. Let us know if you find anything else or have additional questions.
I had the exact same problem. The cooling fan was failing to come on and thus overheating the engine. Check the cooling fan, cooling fan thermoswitch, and cooling fan relay ( behind drivers headlight ). If you pull the connector off of the thermoswitch the fan will come on whenever the car is in "run"
