SOURCE: loss of power on hills
Hi, i think i answered you in another post.
If not then the likely cause of your problem is turbo related the most common cause is one of the pipes going to the turbo has a small split in it causing this problem.
Nearly all the diesel turbo cars with your problem usually means a pipe needs replacing for the turbo this will need to be checked as it can be difficult to find the damaged pipe because they work under high pressure so actually seeing the damaged part can be difficult so check properly.
If you are unsure then get a garage to check this as they will know the fault and will have a good idea exactly which pipe is damaged.
Worst case of this will be that the turbo needs replacing but this is in the most severe of cases the turbo can blow if the pipe has been damaged for to long as it will be working under the wrong pressure.
What happens is when you acelerate the turbo builds up pressure giving you more power when you need it but when the pipe becomes damaged this pressure is lossed and you then lose power and will cause black smoke coming out of exhaust.
Hope this is some help to you but if you have any problems or questions then give me a shout back and ill be glad to assist you further ok
SOURCE: i have a antipolution fault on my peugoet 406.
The anti-pollution warning message is a blanket warning for any fault that has been recorded in the engine ECU, to get any bearing on the cause you will need the fault codes read to at least get you on the right track.
it may be as simple as replacing the air filter , make sure you get the one with the plastic at the bottome , or it could be something more like the fuel additive system which may be costlier.
you really need to get it hooked upto a diagnostics computer and check the error codes its returning.
dont worry though as this is a very common problem with the newer peugeots and is not serious in most cases, in the serious case the car will go into "limp home mode" a severe loss in power if that is occuring then you need to get it to a garage asap
let us know how you get on and please rate
Good luck

Most likely cause is the air mass meter. These are mounted in the air intake pipe to the manifold. Most garages with diagnostics computers will be able to read the fault and confirm this. Changing it is easy.

In my opinion you have already checked and cured the most common problem zones. In my opinion take it to a car electrician and let him find out the problem. May be the wiring is faulty.

You must ensure the safety of the fuel pump .You make sure there is enough fuel in the fuel filter .
i hop for you the best .
