SOURCE: replacing a starter in a PT. Cruiser 2001

Remove battery and battery support you'll be able to undo starter bolt's trough there and slip starter out.

Testimonial: "This didn't help, because you had to remove the engine structural collar under the starter to get at the starter bolt. It was more complicated."

Find your air mass flow sensor in the stiff collar of the air ducting immediately after the air filter. Have the engine running and disconnect the plug to the MAF. If this makes the car run evenly again you need to replace the broken MAF. The misfire on plug 4 I think is a downstream event of the MAF not sending the right info to the ECU and consequently not providing the right fuel / air mix to the engine

2001 PT CRUISER MISFIRE CYLINDER 2

Do you know how check the engine codes? Turn the key 3 times and the codes will be displayed where the odometer number is displayed.
If the code is 302 it is spark plug mis fire.
It could be a bad fuel injector.

Car cut off while driving. Oil light on. Code of P0340

sounds like camshaft positioning sensor.

If you have this problem you will have a difficult time diagnosing what exactly is causing it. The easiest thing to do is to buy another sensor and install it. If this does not fix the problem then you should probably take it to a professional. The reason for this is it will take advanced diagnostic skills and equipment to pinpoint the problem.
