Hi Michael I assume your talking crankcase pressure? However if your talking oil pressure in general On a car of that age oil pressure normally drops not rises if this is the issue you would normally be looking at a blockage possible pressure relief valve or incorrect oil used , Sludging internal of engine or faulty pressure switch. If any major engine work has been carried out it may be something has been fitted incorrectly or wrong part fitted.
More common would be crankcase pressure on a vehicle of this age this may be raised. Easily checked at dipstick remove dipstick and you can normally feel it at the top of dipstick hole. Common cause would be from the minor to major issues; Wrong oil or over filled, engine breather system blocked, worn piston rings or bores or both, possible worn valve guides or guide seals (less common cause) but don't rule out.
Check the above in that order with regards checking piston rings bores , carry out compression test (dry) I.e. remove spark plugs and carry out test note readings. (wet) squirt about 3 shots of engine oil into spark plug holes from an oil can. Crank one revolution and retest compressions see if they rise dramatically. Again note readings Finally these tests should be performed by a qualified mechanic carry out a cylinder leakage test on all cylinders. After all tests are carried out you should be able to draw a diagnosis to what needs to be done. It may be that your engine is beyond economical repair and may be cheaper to drop a rebuilt unit in. Good luck

Mazda has used the engine displacement to determine each model's name; the B1500 had a 1.5 L engine and the B2600 had a 2.6 L engine. In Japan, the name Mazda Proceed was used for the compact pickup

Stop oil leak in sump Mazda 323 1.6 motor

1st thing I would recommend would be getting the whole engine degreased.then drive vehicle for a couple of days and then recheck where leak is coming from 100percent as it could be running down from rocket cover gasket.
if you pin point the leak is coming from the sump you will need to drain oil and remove sump and clean surface area and resell sump and refit.also replace sump plug gasket while ur going.

Check oil, stick bone dry oil light never came on... why?

Hi Sean

The only reason that I could possibly come up with is that there still was enough oil in the sump to build enough oil pressure that the sender was happy.
On second thought, maybe two reasons... the oil pressure switch is faulty.

Read your comment, there's an easy way to check if your oil light is working. Turn the ignition switch to ON (without starting) your oil light if it's working should come on.

Hope this helps you out.

Mazda 6 2o diesel replaced turbo new unit same

There is a oil drain return from the turbo charger to the sump. If the sump oil level covers the outlet into the sump, oil will build excess pressure tin the turbo causing the sealing rings to leak oil in to the intake manifold. This would cause smokey exhaust and loss of oil. Try this. Drain the sump completely, refill with the exact quantity of oil to Mazda spec. Dip the oil and if the new oil level is lower than the full mark on the dipstick, you have found the cause of the problem. Mark this new level with a scriber or file and fill only to this new level. Hope this is the solution.

Oil leak

could be anything from description im fraid, if i was to tell you that if the top of yur engine is full of oil in the connection to the cylinders then it will prob be rocker gasket, however if the oil is coming out of the bottom of the engine then you might have sump gasket probs or sump plug malfunction, or worse case scenario oil seals for one of your external pumps. sorry i couldnt be more specific.

Small oil weep from around the sump seal.and also from around the oil filter seal, this car has only done 1205kms.

If it is just a weep don't worry about it. No factory issues that I can find, try a Mazda only forum.
