It just unbolts but I would also clean the mass air flow sensor. This could also cause a TPS code.
SOURCE: Peugeot 206 temperature gauge not working?
it could be a couple of things, first, check the wires to the temprature sender unit make sure they have not broke, as it was sudden this may be it, also it could be the sender unit it self as a freind of mine had with her car i changed that and the one for the radiator switch, but most of the time it will be something to do with the sender unit on the engine...hope this helps

These cars have the heater core above the radiator fill cap.
When you filled it up, you didn't bleed the air from the heater core hoses (the pair of bent hoses that go through the firewall together with the speedometer cable).
What you have to do is fit a bottle with the bottom cut off (so it works as a funnel) on the radiator fill hole, add coolant to that bottle so the level in it is above that of the heater core and then, remove that tire valve cap on the heater core hose assembly.
Do this with the engine running and keep adding coolant to that "header tank" until no more bubbles come out.
Keep the heater on full blast and check that hot air comes out of the vents.
Read my guide. It specifically mentions the same problem in the Citroen ZX. Good luck!
