1996 pontiac grand prix won't start-security problem

I've tried the trick of turning the key to "ON' and waiting 10 minutes for the security light to stop blinking, (and then would repeat the process 2 more times as suggested); however, the security light never stops blinking...have let it gone on for over 30 minutes. What should I try next?

You have to bump the key so it make like to start , but don't let it start, them wait until the light stop flashing, should be like in 10 mins, then turn the key to off position for like 10sec, then open the ignition again , but at this time don't bump the key just go up to the run position and wait another 10min until the light stop flashing, ..do the same one more time ..be sure there is not any codes stored in the pcm , disconnect the battery first..to clear the pcm memory..hope this help this time

Programing ignition key for 2000 grand am security light comes on and the car will not start for 10 to 15 minutes.

Turn the key on and wait for the security light to stop blinking (may take about ten minutes). Then turn the key off and wait for at least one minute. Then try to start. That should program the key chip.

Car won't tunrover

try this -make sure battery is good and fully charged, then TURN KEY ON (DONT CRANK) AND LEAVE ON FOR ABOUT 10-20 MINUTES. TURN KEY OFF FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND THEN TURN ON AGAIN FOR 5-10 MINUTES AND THEN TURN KEY OFF AGAIN. NOW TRY CRANKING ENGINE--- IM GOING ON MEMORY/MECHANICAL EXPERIENCE WITHOUT THE BENEFIT OF THE OWNERS MANUAL IN FRONT OF ME. IF U HAVE THE MANUAL LOOK IN THE INDEX UNDER SECURITY LIGHT OR ANTI-THEFT FOR RESET PROCEDURE. get back to me if you need more help.

Grand prix no start

Try locating and reading the fuse box to discover which fuse is for the security system. Pull the fuse for the security system. Good luck.

Security system wont let car start

It sounds like the security system has been activated so you need to roll down the drivers side window and close the door. Reach in and turn on the key to the Run position and leave in on for 10 minutes. After 10 minutes is up, turn off the key and then try to start the car. The car should start. If it doesn't start do the process over again. This usually fixes the problem. There is no way to turn off the security system unless you have a key fob. If you have the key fob, just unlock the car and that will disable the security system. I hope this has been helpful.
