If water is not circulating through the radiator, the problem is more likely the water pump. Look and see if the water pump has any coolant leaking from it's vent or weep hole. If so, then the water pump is bad. As for the thermostat, follow the upper radiator hose to where it hooks on the engine. The thermostat should be located inside the housing that the hose hooks onto. Hope this helped and best wishes.

1994mitsubishispacewagon still overheats after replacing auxilliary fan sensor, cleaned the hoses, pls help

Thermostat stuck take it out. leave it out .. try it ...then
put in a new one...or water pump weak. Also try wiring the auxiliary fan and any other fans so that anytime the vehicles motor is ON the fans are ON don't depend on a sensor on a Mitsubishi of that age...fans that don't come on soon enough, or stay on long enough, or turn on at all without letting you know until the motor overheats..... , are the leading cause of death for vehicles~!! lol

Where is the thermostat located?

follow the upper hose from the radiator to the motor it is under the housing on 3.0 L motor take out 3 bolts to remove.
for a 3.8 L motor remove upper radiator hose and remove the water outlet connection bolts and lift water outlet clear of engine.
remove thermostat by rotating it counterclockwise in the water outlet connection until the thermostat becomes free to remove.

to install make sure water outlet pocket and mating surfaces are clean.
install the thermostat into the water connection by rotating it clockwise until the engaging ramps on the thermostat are secure.

install the water outlet connection on the intake manifold with a new gasket and tighten the mounting bolts to 15-22 ft. lbs.

put top hose back on radiator and tighten clamp

don't forget to vote for me.

thanks

My honda will not heat when it is sitting still give it a little gas and it wiil heat what do i need to do

Check your coolant level, more then likely low, check coolant level with engine off and cold. not enough coolant will not circula through out the cooling system at idle, till you give it gas then water pump turns faster and pushes water through out system,

your radiator could be pluged up internally especially if you havent bought this new. alot of people will dump in a radiator leak stoper if the radiator has a small leak and that is not the right thing to do because the stuff can plug up a lot more than the hole.if you take the radiator out and know of a radiator shop they will flow test your radiator and let you know if it is pluged up internally or not i hope this helps you and please rate my solution.
thank you

Can't find thermostat location on 1988 Audi 90.

Hi Lol,
I'm not an Audi specialist however if you follow the top hose from the radiator to the engine block the thermostat housing on most engines is at the end, it may have 2 nuts or bolts securing it.
I hope you are now sorted if not please come back to me and I'll try to get my head under the bonnet/hood of a 90 to find what you seek.
Please remember to rate my efforts,

Location of thermostat on 1993 toyota celica st

there is another thermostat in the car, the one that controls the air conditioning.
i am presuming you are talking about the engine thermostat right? so here it is .

trace the hose that came from the top portion of your radiator. at the end of the hose is an aluminum manifold where the temperature sending units are located. if you remove this manifold, you can see your thermostat laying on top. it is supposed to control the flow of water from the engine to your radiator. replace it and in putting it back, i suggest you have a sealant ready for the right function. a water resistant and temperature resistant sealant that could be use in water manifolds in the engine.

good luck and tnx 4 using fixya,

drcool
