Question about Saturn Ion
Take the car to an autoparts store and have them scan the computer for fault codes. Most parts stores will do the scan for free. Getting the codes should narrow down the cause of the problem with the engine surge. I would suspect a faulty throttle position sensor, but getting the codes should help narrow down the cause.

For your windows and door locks the wires in the door have been broken in two and isn't completing the circut so its not working
