Go to the autozone website at autozone.com and register the car. It's free and you will have access to an online repair manual for your car. The steps for changing the water pump should be found there. Hope this helped and best wishes.

Got 2000 dodge neon will start when cold run good but when motor warms up won't start

Nikki is the engine light on, are there any codes, have you had a tune up or any other work done lately.when you say it won't start when warm(do you mean engine will not turn over, or does engine turn and refuses to fire.
If I had to guess failing fuel pump, they tend not to build fuel pressure when ran a while(warmed up) and when left to cool build somewhat better pressure.

Hi..i have a 2000 dodge neon and the water pump went out on it. some of the bolts on the motor mount tower are impossible to get to. i cant change the water pump inless the motor mount tower/braket is out...

you could do it with a floor jack and some jack stands.... but that poses a safety risk to yourself and your engine. you're better off just getting the engine hoist.

Where is the frost plug installed on a 2000 plymouth neon?

there are several.4-6 or more?? if the coolant is rusty, plan on doing all of them or sell the car. BIG $$$$...If you have not kept up with the coolant service, you will have much bigger problems later on. how many miles? at 90k miles replace the timing belt, tensioner and water pump, use factory chrysler parts only. if you dont and the belt breaks, or water pump siezes, the engine will be trashed.

Where is the water pump on plymouth neon engine.

Hello mark_mack...The Neons water pump is an internal part which is powered by the timing belt. For installation all the accessories, belts, timing cover and motor mount has to be removed. Then the serpentine belt, the lower crank pulley has to be removed. The water pump is behind it and can be replaced in five minutes...just takes awhile to get to it. I would not recommennd doing this job without the knowledge and proper tools.
Note: this would be a good time to replace the timing belt as well, since you already have it removed.
Good luck..i hope this helps..please rate me a fixya.

How do i replace a water pump on a 2001 plymouth neon

t's located behind the timing belt on DOHC engines, and more than likely the same on SOHC engines. if you're a novice, DO NOT ATTEMPT. there will not be much room to work in. REMEMBER TO DRAIN THE COOLING SYSTEM FIRST!! This process can take a long time so plan to do it when you have at least 6 hours or more 1 support the engine 2 remove motor mount at timing belt cover 3 remove cover 4 you will need to remove the timing belt and tensioner(you will need to compress the tensioner with a vice before reinstall) there is a small hole in the side of the tensioner so that you may place an allen wrench through it to hold the tensioner in a compressed position. Also, this would be a good time to install a new timing belt. 5 remove and replace your water pump. 6 reinstall the tensioner, then belt 7 finish the reinstallation process

if 2.4l or 2.0 is about the same you will have to pull your balancer pulley then take off the guard around it then loosen the timein tincher then take your timein belt off then you should see your water pump everything is going to be on the side of the motor and probably will have to put a jack up under the motor and take the motor mount off the side of the motor.
