Oil plug is underneath the car at the bottom of the oilpan , look for the lowest point of the engine and there is a flat pan type resorvoir about five inches or so deep with one bolt in it, that is the bolt you unscrew

What is a good motor oil to run in a 68 chevelle 396 engine

No it is not bad -just more expensive for no real saving. The engine oil should be changed every 5.000 miles as the purpose of the oil is to provide lubrication, hold impurities in suspension, neutralise the acids formed during combustion and give the oil a tension ability ( won't squeeze out from under the bearings under load ). I get all these things plus a heavy detergent action in the oil when I use 30w50 diesel oil plus I get longer engine life. Cheaper than synthetic oils too.

Oil filter change

the amount of oil to refill the sump will be the regular amount plus 1/2 pint for the new filter. You will need to know the sump capacity ( from a owners hand book for your engine)

VALVE NOISE 1996 GRAND CARAVAN

Best bet: Have a mechanic listen to it. Usually they don't charge for a quick listen.
But, if you don't want to do that...

Clicking/clattering noise? Most commonly this happens if you went to long between oil changes, or overheated.
Change your oil AND filter, and use 15w40 'universal' or 'ci-4 plus' grade oil for one or two oil changes, then go back to factory spec oil.

CI4-Plus / Universal oil has more cleaning properties and helps to get rid of varnish and sludge. Usually, loud clicking/clattering/clacking is caused by the hydraulic lifters sticking or not getting oil for some reason. Cleaning out the sludge and varnish very often helps this. If you're really picky about it, use your favorite search engine and find the AutoRX site, that stuff is comparitively expensive and must be used according to directions, but, in my opinion, it is well worth every penny.

If you live in a very cold climate, you might want to wait for summer first, as this is a thicker oil than factory spec and will make for slightly harder starting and a tiny bit less MPG (aaround 0.25 MPG less here in Houston, which is NOT a cold climate)

When breaking, there is a tapping sound plus you can see oil leak on the in side of the rear passenger tire. I was thinking about oil pan in the tire, please help me, because I know that it is not cv

If it is gear oil instead of brake fluid, then the noise and oil is from the rear wheel bearing (and seal) being bad. They would need changed immediately. Rick
