If the light is on, then there is a code in the abs module that has not cleared. Either find someone, like a local shop or dealer, who has an abs code reader to find out what it is and clear the code (if there is a code, there is an issue or was at some point, fix it first!). If you don't want to spend a penny, the always unrecommended solution to clear a code is disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. If the light comes back on, there is something wrong, even if you think it working fine. Ask a dealership if there is any known recalls or tsb's.

Have you ever slammed on your brakes in a safe area (like a big parking lot) in the rain to see how it stops? I think I'd try that before I ignore the light.

ABS light always on means your ABS is not working properly.Radio flickering : you need to check and cover all ***** electric wiring property by electric tape.Noise in turn signal : please on your car hazard and check all integrator working fine, if not replace fuse bulbs, the problem will be fixed.Hazard Button = (http://www.2carpros.com/images/articles/electrical/lights/emergency_flasher/emergency_flasher.jpg)

Light of ABS is always on . on my Golf 2001 manual diesel. I have had no problem with ABS but light stays on since 1 year ago, Can I turn it off

Only way to turn it off would be to remove the ABS sensor (bad idea and potentially dangerous) or to replace the brake sensor. The part runs between $40-60 and is relatively easy to install.

Does the 4 door , 4wd nissan pathfinder have abs?

It should of had ABS. It might not have it anymore. Do you have a light on the dash board that lights up when the key is turned on? How about the owner's manual say anything about it? Most ABS systems go bad in 10 years. and most people pull the bulbs out or put black tape over the light. The brakes still work fine, but no ABS. Check it out, Hope this helps.

My check engine light is on. My mechanic said it was the rear wheel speed sensor. That was replaced the brake light and the ABS lights are still on.

could be that your abs sensor is bad.. or that your brake pump is going out. my bmw has the abs light on and has always had it.. car drives fine for 3 years now :)

Car won't start!!! & ABS Light on

Sounds like carbon build up on the contacts inside the electrical ignition switch which is not the key cylinder. Its located on the lower steering coluum if coluum shift or if you have a floor shift it will be inside the console

ABS light alsways on ( is there a way to turn of the ABS indicator light?) please help

The only to get rid of an ABS light is to fix the problem. I would get it scaned and see what it would cost for parts. As long as you don't have a red brake warning light then your base brakes are working. If you have both lights then get it fixed soon, before you have an accident. Good Luck

ABS Light on 98 Volvo V70

Your car had been designed to work with ABS brakes, if ABS is not working brakes performance can be badly affected, particularly at high speed.
To keep the vehicle safety to standards the ABS should be inspected. At a qualified garage they can connect to ABS system, get an error code in return and diagnose the problem.
Check relays first.
