Pull shifter all the way back and push it foward to park firmly. Try to get key out now. The cable needs to be adjusted.

Rodeo sport ignition switch will not turn over

If you have a spare key....Try that. If Ignition switch still will not turn, Move your steering wheel back and forth at the same time turning your ignition switch.....If that don't work....Then it sounds like your tumblers are bad....Put in a new ignition switch. I hope this helps you.

I have a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo that continues to make a noise like a small motor running after ignition key is turned off. It runs the battery down and will not start until battery is jumped started. Any idea...

It could be a few things with out having the car here it's hard to say but what I would do it put a isolator switch off the battery so it won't run the battery flat until problem found

1998 Isuzu Rodeo The key will not turn in the ignition. I can get it in and out. the steering wheel cant turn. What are my options to trouble shoot or repair

Try moving the Steering Wheel, put a little muscle into it. Some vehicles have a steering column lock that prevents the key from being turned if in the locked position

'95 rodeo cant turn the key, the key is not stuck, the cylinder is

Try turning the steering wheel while trying to turn the ignition. Didn't work? Can you remove the key? Use some WD40 with the tube and spray a little in. Put the key in, pull it out, repeat several times. Put the key in and wiggle the ignition lock back and forth.(try while wiggling the steering wheel back and forth, too.) Still won't move? Try pulling the key out just a small fraction of an inch and try turning the ignition.

Still no solution, time to give up and call a locksmith.

either that or the ignition switch itself is binding up

Key stuck in the ignition and won't come out

All I can think of is either (1) the switch is not fully returning to the full off position for a number of reasons, or (2) the tumblers in ignition switch is beginning to breakdown. You can change the switch whereby getting a new (different key). But somethings should not be dealt with on our own. In this case you should let a qualified automobile locksmith handle this. Let me know of your decision.

96 rodeo not getting power to starter

My first check would be the ignition switch, take a volmeter lead to the solenoid lead and the other to chassis or negative lead of the battery,no volmeter you can use a 12v test light, and have someone turn the key as to start it,you should get a 12v reading,if not the ignition switch is probably bad
