Sound's like the timing is off, check the timing. Firing order is 1-6 counter clockwise and the engine is Front pass side 1-3-5 drivers 2-4-6. Timing is 13-17 @ 700-800 rpm for manual trans and same for automatic (in neutral)
Hope this helps.

To find the fault take the car to autozone and have the fault codes read. It is probably in limp mode which indicates a fault in the engine or transmission.

Sounds like my 2002 nissan pathfinder is bogging down when i gas it , it runs fine but gets crappy gas miledge

needs a tuneup, definately change fuel & air filters, replace spark plugs & wires, distributor cap / rotor, change oil & filter, it would'nt hurt to replace cat conv., it restricts exhaust flow, between you & me , take it off, put a straight pipe in its place, is your inspection up to date ? you'll have a year to replace your CAT, before next inspection. just remember that. nissans this year usually need to have the timing belt replaced, nissan charges $900 + to do it. BIG DIFFERANCE ! see how it runs after tuneup, also , you may end up replacing both the cam & crank sensors down the road. I would replace the OXYGEN sensor/s as part of tuneup, it will help a great deal.

My 95 Pathfinder has sat idle for a couple months and now it won't start.

letting a vehicle sit idle for months is not good !!! now you need to do some work, so get out your check book ! replace both air & fuel filters, replace spark plugs, plug wires, distributor cap & rotor, add fresh fuel & fuel injector cleaner to tank @ same time. why are you going from accessory to run, that doesn't make any sense, stop it, please ! now get to work, good luck !

Had distributor replace vehicle now runnig sluggish & stumbles was told it might be in limp mode how do I get it out of limp mode

the wires could have been place in the wrong positions on the distributor cap. try and see if they are numbered or try moving them into different positions try to i.d.each wire to the correct position with tape or color system and if you get it correct remark them. this is why you change one wire at a time. its is very easy to cross 2 wires some where on the block shoud be the cylinder detonation schedule see if you can match that up to the cap.

No spark ,1988 nissen pathfinder v6

you might check the cranshaft sensor, it controls the spark to the plugs and coil

Ignition coil??

Its the distributor that needs to be replaced. Its probably the coil alone that bad but the coil is built into the distributor, so you will have to replace as one unit. Make sure when replacing the distributor you set the car in base timing thats the rotor head tointed to cylinder #1 and number on piston on TDC(topdead center)before you remove distributor shaft then repalce in the same position and your problem should be solved. Good Luck
