The wires could have been place in the wrong positions on the distributor cap. try and see if they are numbered or try moving them into different positions try to i.d.each wire to the correct position with tape or color system and if you get it correct remark them. this is why you change one wire at a time. its is very easy to cross 2 wires some where on the block shoud be the cylinder detonation schedule see if you can match that up to the cap.

Stuck in limp mode

Limp Mode is usually a transmission failure
that will have to be diagnosed-check for codes
& google what they are

There are overheating & possibly other limp
modes on some vehicles

Can't use it at all like that & not cause a problem

Need a repair shop or dealer

2005 focus 1.6 limp mode problem and P2100 code

Try clearing the code from the computer. If it returns again, the second hand one could be bad also! Some codes are what they call a hard code, that stays in the computer memory, and will think that the problem wasn't repaired (even though the part was replaced). Till the code is cleared from the memory, the vehicle will return to a limp mode untill the problem is resolved!!

Limp mode

Have to find out why the fuse blows
What is wrong with that circuit
Then you see if you have another problem
causing it to go into limp mode
If you look at a wiring diagram & had a factory
manua,l you could learn the vehicle strategy
Without both, your pretty much done & have to
pay a shop that won't educate you, if they even
have a clue

Limp mode

Hi Mary, You have not told us the vehicle make or model, or basically anything we can use to determine what fault it may have. Take your vehicle to a reputable garage and ask them to carry out a diagnostic scan. Regards John

2000 model 1500 express van 5.7 vortex, stumbles & misses when you give it gas was told it was in timing ,need to replace distributer gear? If so how do I set timing

more than likely is is just corrosion in the distributor cap and rotor. new parts can be bought at and part store. your timing will not be affected when you change just the cap and rotor. make sure that you mark the spark plugs when you take them off of the cap. and be sure to clean all the corrosion that is on the top of the distributor.

1998 jeep cherokee,has a sluggish pick up.

Jeeps have electric solenoids inside the transmission, (shift solenoids) I would have the jeep tested at the advance auto or autozone for codes if the check engine light is on; (its free) and go from there. sounds like the jeep may be in limp mode which chrysler created to protect the transmission. limp mode will not allow the jeep to shift all the way up to overdrive or shift all the way down to 1st shifting position. feels like it has to get going over25 to move well . AAMCO transmissions will diagnose your jeep for free in most states.

1998 Nissan Pathfinder stuck in Limp Mode just had the distributor & spark plugs replaced now the vehicle stumbles & is sluggish on take off ?

Sound's like the timing is off, check the timing. Firing order is 1-6 counter clockwise and the engine is Front pass side 1-3-5 drivers 2-4-6. Timing is 13-17 @ 700-800 rpm for manual trans and same for automatic (in neutral)
Hope this helps.
