Question about 1987 Toyota Pickup

It deisel when shut off

It deisels when shut off. this is 87 toyota pickup with a 22 r. put a new carb on it. i tried adjustin it. doesnt seem to effect it. i don't think its carb related...any ideas

Your timing chain may be streched causing the timing to be off.

are faulty just replace them first, they are a good first step!

Hi I'm litoshop if you installed a new carbulater and you try to adjust and you don't see a diffrence when you close the niddles then you may have air coming in from the gaskets to see if theres air coming in from somewhere else turn on the engine and place something over the mouth of the carbulater you can use your hands or a rag if the engine shuts off then thats not the problem but if it stays on then you have to look from where it's sucking that extra air, try this and let me know what happen good luck if this information has been helpful please let fixya know thank you.

Check all the battery & starter motor terminals, if all OK, a new starter motor will be the answer !

Put petrol into deisel tank

take of the fuel sender hose of tank and be prepared to catch any spills wen finshed fill with deisel
