Why is my engine missing out and engine light on?

Any time your "check engine" light comes on, that means that the onboard computer has detected a problem and has stored a "code". Take your car to your local auto parts store, most will read the code for you. You can use the code to know what the problem is, and likely know how to fix it.

Acceleration jerky, and sometimes slow..... engine light, on & off??????????

the EGR valve might be sticking or it has a leak in the vacume system.
also check the pvc valve for sticking both cause symptons to come and go and set off the trouble code light.
could be something else though but check those things first

My check engine light comes on and flashes only when i accelerate

Chances are you have problems with the ignition system.
First thing to do is get the computer scanned for trouble codes to find out why the check engine light is coming on.

91,000 miles I accelerate and felt the engine sputter. There small sputters, but I'm sure they're going to get worse. It also happens when I cruise around 50+ mps. No lights have come on

Sounds like you may have a small random misfire.. Have your spark plugs checked...One just maybe cracked...And sooner or later, as it gets worse the check engine light will pop on, and you can go from there..Goodluck...
