If you can hear the fan running, check for debris sucked up into air intake...passenger side under dash for recirculation intake. If you can't hear fan running, check heater fuse.

My windows are not defrosting properly.


Do you have heat? Does the fan turn on? are you getting air from the defroster vents close to the windshield? If you have heat make sure the defrost control is working. I'd open the outside air vent and turn the blower on high speed. If there is no heat, the heater control valve is not working. Double check the radiator fluid tank, make sure you have enough fluid (antifreeze) Low fluid levels can reduce the hot water flow to the heater coil inside the car. If there
is no air flow through the defroster vents you may have a problem with the fan control, or the fan motor. Good luck.

2010 Toyota corolla isn't blowing any air heat or defrost. The switch won't turn anything on. There is a constant air flowing very very lightly thru vent and u can hear fan running but switch cobtrols...


Hi, the switch has a cable connected to it, it has definitely come loose from the plastic housing that controls the air flow,suggest open out the panel and reconnect the cable.

I the short answer is yes. The truck has a flow-thru vent feature as does most GM products. When the fan switch is off the outside air would flow into the truck.
I thought you could still direct the air by way of the control panel, but by the wiring diagram it looks like everything is disabled when the fan switch is in the off position.

Heater/ac fan does not blow even though compressor turns on with switch


The blower fan uses a voltage ballast block to control the different speeds. Sounds like it needs to be replaced. However, usually the highest speed still works, but not necessarily.
This is an inexpensive part and usually easy to change.
The voltage ballast issue. this is an electrical block which controls voltage to change fan speeds. Usually found under the passenger side dash, right in the air flow comming from the fan and inside the air flow housing. Usually held in by 2 or 3 screws with a connector and 3-4 wires sticking out. this should be under $20 to buy and quite easy to change, if you can find it. Try behind glove box etc. Do not test the new one without it being in place, as it may burn out very quickly without the air flow to cool it.

THE SWITCH WORKS AND THE FAN WORKS BUT NO HOT AIR


bad heater control valve may be the case. The heater control valve controls the flow of coolant to the heater core. If it dont open then no coolant can get to the core..Good Luck.

I cant get any fan forced air to exit the dash vents or defroster


if the motor is running fine and there is no air flow,the blade or squirrel cage fell off or came loose on the shaft so the motor is spinning but the blade isnt

The extra air flow most likely turns the fan motor, check the fuses, check the fan motor switch for power if O.K. check the fan motor for power..

Hot air forced into cabin while driving 92 saab 900


the air distribution switch controls the air distribution and the fan, distribution switch in the 0 (straight down position) will be off. Car movement forces air into teh body, but with teh fan off there will be no air when the car stops. Does the fan run when the distribution switch is in any other position? it should respond to the speed settings of the fan switch.

There is a vacuum bottle accumulator that assists the distribution switch, sometimes this gets disconnected and the switch settings don't work.

Do you hear any noises if you turn the distribution knob while the car is running? suction noises, or flaps opening?

If not, then you likely have a vacuum problem (check for a white bottle in left front wheel housing, except convertible -> under the spare wheel, tank should have one or two vacuum lines connected to it (one for convertible). A disconnected or leaky line is the most likely cause.

Possible other causes are faulty air distribution switch; burned out fan motor; inoperative vacuum solenoid motors controlling air distribution flaps.

But check the vacuum accumulator first, if under the spare wheel, the lines are easily dislodged.
