How to open the fly screen door - Cars & Trucks

Question moved from Seat (Spanish Car maker) to Chevy.

Brute Force. Get in through the passenger side and roll down the window. Have a friend hold the door latch open. Lay across the front seats and push with your feet. Have another friend take video and be famous when it unlatches and your friend goes flying. :>D

Inspect the seat belt material for damage and replace if necessary.

This sounds like the door actuator mechanism is failing. DO NOT drive this vehicle until it is repaired! You will need to strip the door panel off and replace the whole actuator. Ths is a pain in the tailbone job that will take the skin off at least one knuckle so expect it to take you at least a whole day to do.

The door catch is down or has lost a spring inside the hook
No simple fix but too replace door latch inside
In order to drive car with door that way no back seat passengers till fixed but use tie down ratchet straps from door to door inside handles
This will keep door shut then can drive vehicle normal till door catch is fixed its simple hour job to replace just buy parts have mechanic shop install

remove the door trim and work from inside the door . use care here as the door will be uncontrolled and can fly open in a gust of wind causing injury or body damage

Youre door is probably bent at the door hinges. You need to adjust the latch bar on the door jam. There will be two bolts to loose and you can move the bar in all directions. You probably need to move it down.

There should be a red "+" point under the hood. Connect jumper leads or a booster pack to this point and a good earth point on the chassis or engine block and use the remote key fob to open the trunk.

when leaving car spray with fly spray as you get out ,??? might not be your problem but??? wouldnt be the first to have a resident spider or fly

Pull on the door handle as if to open the door and pop the latch back open with a screwdriver and you should be good to roll
