Question about 1985 Jeep CJ7

My low beams do not work consistently

My low beams do not work. I changed one and they both started working. I turned them off and back on and they stopped. High beams are fine. Suggestions?

Dimmer switch could be the cause. They are cheap and quick to replace. If that isn't the fix then try replacing the head lamp switch on the dash; if your dims worked for a moment, even just once, then the wiring is probably not the problem.

Low beam headlamps wont turn on change bulbs and checked fuses and still wont come on.

did you check for a relay in your fuse panel? there should be a relay that controls your low beams and one for your high beams. check for that and then if high beams are working swap it with low beam relay. if your problem switches to low beams working and high beams not working replace the bad relay.

Low Beam headlights not working

The daytime running lights run the high beam bulbs at low voltage so it sounds like you need to put the relays back where they were and either replace the low beam bulbs or repair the wiring to them. Also the relay you removed could be defective.
